There’s sooooooo much to do for young adults at The Park!  Make plans to join us in the following ways:

  • EnterAct—This dynamic worship service is offered every 1st Friday of each month at 8pm at The Park Church Independence Blvd and includes a live band, interactive texting, refreshments after service, artistic expressions (poetry, drama, visual arts, graphic design, etc.), music from DJ J Lee, and more!  We need:
    • Volunteers who are willing to serve as greeters, ushers, and intercessors
    • Donations for refreshments
    • Artists who are willing to paint, sketch or sculpt during service
    • Musicians who want to join the band 
    • Graphic artists to help design flyers

  • The Young Adult Forums—The Young Adult Forums are more than just your average Bible study; our Forums are the place to connect God’s Word to our real-life situations.  This year, we’re using movies from the 80’s and 90’s as the springboard for relevant Biblical discussions.  We meet every 3rd Thursday at 6:30pm at The Park Church Independence Blvd.  We need: 
    • Your attendance
    • Your ideas for forums
    • Your input and participation

  • The Kingdom College Ministry—Our church is passionate about college students and provides the following tangible opportunities for connection and growth:
    • 3rd Sunday Meals for College Students—We provide FREE FOOD for undergraduate college students on the 3rd Sunday of each month, directly following the 10:30am worship service.  We need:
      • Young Adults who are willing to help greet students
      • Young Adults who can help serve food
      • Your voice in getting the word out to other college students
    • College Transportation—The church currently provides transportation to the 10:30am worship service from Johnson C. Smith University at 10am in front of the guard booth and from Johnson & Wales University at 10am in the circle at South Cedar Hall.  We need:
      • People willing to help drive as part of the transportation ministry
      • Students who are willing to serve as campus liaisons to help coordinate pick-ups
      • Additional vans to be able to provide transportation to UNCC and Queens University.
      • Your voice in getting the word out to other college students
    • Kingdom College Leaders Program—This ministry focuses on students who are called to leadership, both in the church and on their campuses. We sponsor an internship program for Freshman and Sophomore Students who sense a call to ministry, a College Leaders Retreat in April for bonding and learning as a group, and monthly leadership training at 4:30pm every 1st Sunday, just before Communion at Beatties Ford Road.  We need:
      • Students who senses God’s call to leadership in any capacity
      • Leaders who want to help inspire, nurture, and support student leaders

  • Young Adult Married Couples Life Group—This life group meets on a monthly basis with book discussions, date nights, family fellowships and support.  We need:
    • Couples who are interested in being a part
    • Babysitters who can volunteer to watch children
    • Topics, books, or ideas to discuss in life group meetings

  • Young Adult Choir—The Young Adult Choir sings every 4th Sunday at The Park Church South Charlotte.  Rehearsals are twice a month for one hour and all singers (or those who think they can sing) are welcome!  We need:
    • Singers of all ranges (soprano, alto, and tenor)
    • Musicians who are interested in playing
    • Song writers who are willing to share new music

  • Young Adult Missions Team—The Young Adult Missions team engages in public charity and justice for the cause of Christ.  We have completed missions in New Orleans for three consecutive years. In 2011, we will be in Charlotte to focus on homelessness—with an emphasis on children in homelessness—during our Solidarity Week.  We need:
    • People to help us raise money to give to agencies that advocate for homeless children
    • Persons to join our team for the Solidarity Week event
