Cancelled: MLK Day of Service: Samaritan’s Feet
Out of safety concerns due to the inclement weather, Samaritan’s Feet International headquarters has decided to cancel Monday’s service event. There are two other volunteer opportunities with this organization later this week:
- Thursday, January 20th from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Friday, January 21st from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
All attendees are welcome to come and go as your schedules allow.
From Samaritan’s Feet:
Volunteers will have the opportunity to help us sort shoes in our warehouse. There will be a short orientation on safety guidelines and warehouse job description. We kindly ask that you arrive 15 minutes early and follow check in procedures. Per CDC guidelines, volunteers who provide proof of COVID vaccination may serve with us without a mask. If you choose to keep your vaccination status private or have not been vaccinated, you may serve with us while wearing a face covering. If you are not comfortable serving in a public, though restricted, situation, we welcome your support of Samaritan’s Feet in other ways.
Please make sure to read our Volunteer Safety Guidelines before your visit, so you can be prepared. We encourage our warehouse volunteers to bring a new pair of athletic shoes or to donate $25.00 per volunteer to help us support our mission. Safety Guidelines can be found here: https://www.samaritansfeet.org/get-involved/volunteer-in-our-warehouse/
We are located at 4808 Chesapeake Drive. Upon arriving and entering the security gate, parking is immediately on the left. Follow our sidewalk to the front of the building until the very last door. We’ll be taking temperatures at the door before entering, and we ask everyone to wear a mask and to dress comfortably.”
