Youth Ministry’s Back to School Day
We want to provide necessary information for parents and students to navigate online and offer an enjoyable environment for all.
About this event
This year The Park Church’s Youth Ministry is sponsoring a Back to School Day. As we take precautions to remain safe during this time, we also look to educate both our parents and students on online safety methods, and bring you a fun and exciting day of games, contests, prizes and so much more.
“The Park Church Youth Ministry’s Back to School Day will offer a time of discussion for parents and students to educate and bring awareness of the seriousness and possible dangers of online communal activity via various platforms. This day will also include an afternoon of fun and festive activities, ending with a special time of prayer and affirmations for our students and school staff.”
This year’s event will take in two different settings and times throughout the day. Registration will be required for each event. During the registration, you will be able to select which event(s) you plan to attend. Please carefully read the agenda for August 13, 2022.
10am – 11:30am (Virtual Zoom Session)
Virtual Online Safety Session led by a Special Agent of the FBI
Unfortunately, in the technological age that we are in, online, internet and cyber scams will only escalate and get worse. We want to bring awareness to our parents as well as our students. Our goal is to equip you with enough knowledge that you will be able to make informed decisions about how you choose to use the internet.
This session is designed for all parents, regardless of the age of your child, however, we only recommend students of middle and high school ages attending.
This session will include discussion on:
- Social Media
- Child Extortion
- Cyberbullying
There will be a time of engaging Q&A at the end.
4pm – 7pm (The Park Church Independence Outdoor space)
Back to School FUN Activities
This will be a time for students of all ages, teachers, school staff and administrators.
The day will include:
- Food
- 360 photobooth
- Snow cones
- Cotton candy
- Giveaways
- Music and entertainment
- Games (teacher vs. student contests)
- Much more…
We believe that everyone in our school system should be affirmed and prayed for so, we will end the day with a time dedicated to prayer and affirmations for both our students and all school staff.
We look forward to seeing you there as we seek to extend the Love of God in a fun way to all who will attend.
Please wear your mask!
Due to COVID-19 policies for social distancing and safety at public gatherings, we will continually monitor registration to ensure the expected attendance numbers are at a manageable level. We also reserve the right to regulate the registration process to ensure that capacity is not exceeded.
