Whether you consider yourself ”creative” or not, we invite you to explore faith and creativity with us. Join interior designer, entrepreneur and course instructor Cheryl Luckett as she guides you through three bite-sized lessons that explore God as the ultimate creator (and you as a co-creator), help you to identify your creative gifts, and show you how to leverage your gifts in your career or in ministry. This course is free and open to everyone.
Discover the sacred delight that flows from God’s heart to any heart willing to receive His love and the wonder of Christ’s redemption. Because let’s be honest… life has its share of joyless moments, disappointments and devastations that come and test our faith. In this three-part lesson, instructor Joy A. Williams helps us access God’s “sacred delight” in order to claim joy even in the midst of life’s joyless moments. This course is free and open to everyone.
2023 Bible Reading Plan
Sickle Cell Disease affects 1 in 13 African American babies, approximately 100,000 Americans and occurs in about 1 out of every 365 African American births.
National Sickle Cell Awareness Month was designated by Congress to help focus attention on the need for research and treatment of sickle cell disease. Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an inherited disease of hemoglobin, a molecule that carries oxygen within red blood cells. Patients with SCD have red blood cells containing abnormal hemoglobin, which causes the cells to become stiff and form a sickle or crescent shape. Because it is difficult for sickle-shaped cells to pass through small blood vessels, the flow of blood is sometimes blocked, and oxygen does not reach nearby tissues. The disease can cause a host of medical problems including: Anemia, Jaundice, Gallstones, Lung tissue damage, Pain episodes, Stroke and Organ damage.
A bone marrow transplant is the only known cure for sickle cell disease. A well-matched donor is needed to have the best chance for a successful transplant. African Americans are under-represented on the bone marrow registry, accounting for only 7% of all registrants. Because a patient’s best chance of finding a matching bone marrow donor is with someone of similar ancestry, African Americans with sickle cell disease have a harder time finding a bone marrow match.
This is where the Park family can be the difference.
This month, we are walking out one of our principles as we partner with DKMS to host a Donor Blood Stem Drive. Our aim is to educate, bring awareness and inspire potential donors to “Swab for Life.” Swab for a Life is a Virtual Donor Drive.
Our goal is for the Park Church to register 60 donors. Get educational information and REGISTER at www.dkms.org/theparkchurch.

P.L.U.S. Ministry
Purposely Loving & Understanding Special Needs Families (P.L.U.S.) seeks to bring people with special needs and their families to Christ through evangelism, fellowship, spiritual development, and missions work.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (CSB)
We participate in the Park Church 5K with Speed for Need; we also host a Disability Awareness Sunday, and have workshops addressing issues relevant to those with special needs. We provide special needs orientation and education for volunteers, along with volunteering for Night to Shine with Tim Tebow.
In addition, we support parents with educational questions at the beginning of the school year for IEP’s, 504 plans, etc. If you’re called to serve people in under the PLUS umbrella, then this session will highlight the training, service opportunities and current needs.
